While the sky will remain dark, the spiritual essence of the event will be preserved. Authorities emphasized that while the “Vedikkettu” (fireworks) is a major draw for tourists and locals alike, the risk to human life in the current climate is too significant to ignore. Changes to Kudamattam and Major Rituals
