Siri and Superintendent of Police Vikrant Patil spearheaded a massive public walkathon under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” (Drug-Free India Campaign). The event, organized in collaboration with EAGLE, Andhra Pradesh’s specialized anti-narcotics task force, aimed to educate the youth on the severe legal and personal consequences of substance abuse.
High-Profile March Energizes Kurnool Streets
The awareness rally commenced at the prominent Raj Vihar Circle and concluded at the District Collectorate. Hundreds of students, educators, and civil society members joined the high-profile officials in the march, carrying placards and chanting slogans against drug addiction. The presence of the district’s top administrative and police leadership underscored the government’s commitment to eradicating the drug menace from the grassroots level.
Vigilance Against the Narcotic Narrative
During the event, Collector A. Siri addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the future of the nation rests on the health and integrity of its students. She urged the youth to remain vigilant against peer pressure and reported that the administration is working tirelessly to create a safe environment through strict enforcement and community outreach. “Our goal is not just to punish, but to prevent. Education is our strongest tool in making Kurnool a drug-free zone,” the Collector stated.
A Warning to Students and Peddlers
Superintendent of Police Vikrant Patil issued a stern warning regarding the legal ramifications of drug trafficking and consumption. He highlighted the role of the EAGLE force in identifying supply chains and targeting those who exploit young people. Patil urged students to focus on their careers and physical fitness rather than falling into the trap of temporary euphoria which leads to permanent ruin.
The SP further encouraged the public to act as the eyes and ears of the police department, reporting any suspicious activities related to narcotic sales near educational institutions. The walkathon concluded with a collective pledge by participants to remain drug-free and advocate for a sober lifestyle among their peers.
