Sridhar Babu makes a strategic push for increased foreign direct investment from European powerhouses. During recent high-level diplomatic meetings, the Minister emphasized the state’s readiness to serve as a strategic hub for Norwegian innovation and Italian manufacturing prowess.
Strengthening Ties with Norway in Green Tech and Healthcare
Speaking at a specialized session focused on Indo-Norwegian collaboration, Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted the natural synergy between Telangana’s industrial ecosystem and Norway’s leadership in sustainable technology. He formally invited Norwegian firms to consider Telangana as their “preferred partner” when expanding into the South Asian market.
The Minister identified three core sectors for immediate cooperation: Life Sciences, Healthcare, and Green Technology. With Hyderabad already recognized as a global vaccine and pharmaceutical hub, the state aims to integrate Norwegian expertise in medical research and renewable energy systems to bolster its sustainability goals. “We are committed to providing a seamless entry point for Norwegian companies looking to innovate in climate-positive technologies,” the Minister remarked.
Attracting Italian Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing
In a separate outreach directed toward Italian industrial leaders, Sridhar Babu underscored the opportunities within Telangana’s evolving manufacturing landscape. Known for their precision engineering and high-end industrial design, Italian companies are being urged to set up production facilities within the state’s dedicated industrial parks.
The state government is particularly keen on attracting Italian investment in Advanced Manufacturing, encompassing automotive components, aerospace, and textile machinery. The Minister highlighted the state’s “investor-friendly” policies, which include streamlined single-window clearances and robust infrastructure, as key incentives for Italian firms to diversify their supply chains into India.

These diplomatic efforts are part of a broader strategy to transform Telangana from a regional services leader into a global manufacturing and R&D powerhouse.
