Telangana Grameena Bank (TGB) has reported a record-breaking financial performance for the fiscal year 2024-25, highlighting a period of aggressive growth and enhanced operational efficiency. The Regional Rural Bank (RRB) saw its net profit soar by nearly 90%, reaching ₹1,283 crore compared to ₹676 crore in the previous financial year.

Extensive Growth Across Key Financial Metrics

The bank’s impressive bottom-line growth was supported by a substantial increase in its total business volume. TGB’s overall business reached ₹45,152 crore by the end of March 2025, marking an 18.25% year-on-year growth. Deposit figures climbed to ₹23,024 crore, while total advances reached ₹22,127 crore.

One of the most notable achievements cited by the bank was the significant improvement in asset quality. The Net Non-Performing Assets (NPA) ratio was brought down to zero, reflecting meticulous credit management and effective recovery strategies. The Gross NPA also saw a major decline, falling from 3.32% to 1.63%.

Strategic Drivers of Success

Speaking on the annual results, Telangana Grameena Bank Chairman K. Prathapa Reddy attributed the performance to a Diversified Loan Portfolio (DLP) and a focused approach to low-cost deposits. “Our focus on digital banking initiatives and expanding our outreach in rural and semi-urban areas has played a pivotal role in this turnaround,” Reddy stated.

The bank’s Capital to Risk-Weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR) remained robust at 18.06%, well above the regulatory requirement. This financial cushion positions the bank for further expansion in the coming fiscal year.

Future Outlook and Digital Transformation

Looking ahead, TGB aims to further integrate technology into its service delivery. The bank plans to enhance its mobile banking features and introduce more tailored credit products for the agricultural and MSME sectors. With a zero net NPA status, the institution is now focused on scaling its retail lending segment while maintaining high standards of fiscal discipline.

The bank, which is sponsored by the State Bank of India, continues to be a major player in Telangana’s financial landscape, particularly in supporting self-help groups and small-scale entrepreneurs across its wide network of branches.
