Starting Monday, October 28, travelers will have access to an additional daily service, effectively doubling the frequency between these two major hubs.
Increased Frequency for Business and Tourism
The new flight schedule, operated by IndiGo, marks a strategic move to accommodate the rising tide of commuters traveling between the “City of Palaces” and India’s pharmaceutical and tech capital. Previously, the route was served by a single daily flight. With this expansion, the airport will now facilitate two daily departures to Hyderabad, providing more flexibility for business professionals and tourists alike.
The new service, flight 6E 7262, is scheduled to depart from Hyderabad at 1:15 PM, arriving at Mandakalli Airport in Mysuru by 2:50 PM. The return leg, flight 6E 7263, will take off from Mysuru at 3:10 PM and reach Hyderabad at 4:45 PM. This afternoon slot complements the existing morning service, which typically sees high occupancy rates.
Strengthening Mysuru’s Aviation Map
Airport authorities and local stakeholders have welcomed the move, noting that the Hyderabad-Mysuru route has consistently been one of the most profitable and high-demand sectors under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). The addition of this flight is expected to stabilize airfares through increased competition and availability, particularly during the peak festival and year-end travel seasons.
Currently, Mysuru airport also maintains connections to other key cities, including Chennai and Goa. However, representatives from the local chamber of commerce suggest that the success of the Hyderabad route serves as a proof of concept for reviving other discontinued routes. Efforts are reportedly underway to re-establish direct connectivity to Bengaluru and explore new links to North Indian cities.
