Authorities in the Tiruchi district have launched an investigation after a local election office belonging to the Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) was destroyed by fire in the early hours of Monday morning. The incident has sparked concerns regarding political safety as local party workers navigate the competitive landscape of the Srirangam Assembly constituency.
According to reports from local law enforcement, the temporary structure, which was primarily constructed using traditional coconut fronds and decorated with various party banners and flags, was quickly engulfed in flames. By the time emergency services could respond, the structure had been completely reduced to ashes. Preliminary findings suggest that the blaze was intentionally set, though no suspects have been officially named at this stage.
Party Workers Call for Swift Justice
The office had been serving as a vital hub for TVK activities in the Srirangam area, acting as a meeting point for grassroots organizers and a distribution center for campaign materials.
