In a move to quell public anxiety regarding potential energy shortages, oil marketing companies (OMCs) operating in Telangana have officially confirmed that fuel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) supplies remain stable. State representatives for the industry emphasized that there is currently no deficit in the supply chain and that distribution networks are functioning at full capacity.
Ample Reserves at Depots and Terminals
According to officials from major public sector OMCs—including Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL)—the storage terminals and bottling plants throughout the state are well-stocked. This announcement comes after periodic concerns regarding logistical bottlenecks had led to localized panic buying at several retail outlets.
Industry experts noted that the replenishment cycles for petrol, diesel, and cooking gas are being monitored daily. “There is no reason for the public to worry about availability,” stated a senior official representing the oil industry in the region. “Our inventory levels are robust, and the distribution from our mother depots to retail stations is proceeding as scheduled.”
Logistics and Distribution Status
The assurance extends beyond just motor fuels to include domestic LPG cylinders. Bottling plants in Cherlapally and other key hubs are operating under normal shifts to ensure that home deliveries remain uninterrupted. The industry has streamlined its transportation logistics to bypass any minor regional disruptions, ensuring that both urban and rural Telangana receive consistent supply.
The OMCs have also urged consumers to refrain from panic booking or hoarding, as such actions can create artificial shortages and strain the local delivery infrastructure. The current stocks of petrol and diesel are reported to be sufficient to meet the state’s demand for several weeks, even without immediate replenishment from refineries.
Market Stability and Consumer Confidence
State authorities are working in tandem with the OMCs to monitor retail prices and ensure that no hoarding takes place at the dealer level. With the monsoon season influencing transport timelines, the companies have already pre-positioned stocks in areas prone to logistical delays. This proactive approach aims to maintain consumer confidence and prevent the spread of misinformation regarding fuel scarcity.
