The South Central Railway (SCR) has officially unveiled its annual Public Relations (PR) Calendar for the year 2024, continuing a long-standing tradition of showcasing the zone’s operational milestones and upcoming infrastructure projects. The unveiling ceremony took place at Rail Nilayam, the zonal headquarters in Secunderabad, led by senior railway officials who emphasized the importance of maintaining transparent communication with the public.
Showcasing Progress and Modernization
The newly released calendar serves as more than just a date-tracking tool; it acts as a visual narrative of the SCR’s recent achievements. Each month highlights different facets of the railway’s operations, ranging from the rapid pace of electrification and track doubling to the introduction of high-speed Vande Bharat Express trains. Officials noted that the imagery chosen for this year significantly focuses on the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme,’ which aims to modernize and enhance passenger amenities at numerous small and medium-sized stations across the zone.
Bridging the Gap with Rail Users
During the launch, the General Manager of South Central Railway highlighted that the PR calendar is a vital component of their outreach strategy. By documenting the transformation of the rail network, the department seeks to foster a stronger connection with the millions of passengers who rely on their services daily. The publication also features QR codes for the first time, allowing users to scan and access digital updates regarding train schedules, safety protocols, and recruitment drives directly on their smartphones.
A Focus on Safety and Sustainability
Beyond infrastructure, the 2024 calendar places a heavy emphasis on safety achievements and green initiatives. Several pages are dedicated to the implementation of the ‘Kavach’ indigenous anti-collision technology, which was pioneered within the SCR zone. Additionally, the calendar highlights the zone’s efforts in water conservation and the installation of solar power plants at various railway premises, underlining a commitment to environmental sustainability.
The PR department confirmed that the calendar will be distributed across various divisional offices including Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Hyderabad, and Nanded, ensuring that the message of progress reaches every corner of the South Central Railway’s jurisdiction.
