Residents across several parts of Telangana are being advised to stay cautious as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for April 22. According to the latest weather patterns, at least 18 districts in the state are expected to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, bringing a temporary shifts to the current climate conditions.
Severe Weather Alert for 18 Districts
The Hyderabad-based Meteorological Centre has pinpointed specific regions likely to be affected by the upcoming weather disturbance. The districts under the yellow alert include Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, and Kamareddy.
Meteorologists indicate that these areas may face thunderstorms accompanied by lightning. Furthermore, residents should prepare for gusty winds reaching speeds between 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, which could potentially impact temporary structures and power lines.
Hyderabad Weather Outlook
While the city of Hyderabad itself remains on standby, the general forecast for the capital involves a partially cloudy sky. The IMD predicts that while the city might avoid the brunt of the heavy storms, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to manifest toward the evening or night hours in some parts of the city.
Temperature Fluctuations and Safety Precautions
Despite the rain forecast, temperatures are expected to remain relatively high before the storms hit. Maximum temperatures in Hyderabad are likely to hover around 39 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will stay near 26 degrees Celsius. The sudden change in weather can often lead to visibility issues during travel and localized waterlogging.
Authorities advise citizens to avoid taking shelter under trees during lightning and to secure any loose outdoor items that could be displaced by high-speed winds. Farmers in the affected districts are also urged to take necessary precautions to protect their harvested crops from moisture and wind damage.
